Our instructor of the year award is a Surfing Croyde Bay tradition where at the end of each season the entire team votes for who they believe was essentially the best surf coach.

Now with a big team full of very talented and committed surf instructors they have to take into consideration everything about what makes a great Coach. From how consistent the person is, their knowledge and ability to deliver a wide range of lessons to different abilities, their interpersonal skills, work ethic and so on. 

Each year the general fear of Damons has been that it may end up being a popularity contest, and with the winner receiving a custom surfboard from the company it’s important everyone votes fairly and looking back through the previous winners it’s safe to say they do. Which makes it even more impressive that for the third time Albi Dawkins was awarded SCB Instructor of the Year . 

This is a testament to not only how hard Albi works, how well he represents us here and how much the customers value his input, but more so just how respected and revered he is by his peers. 

Congratulations Albi you truly deserve to win again this year, despite some very stiff competition from the entire team. Pretty much have a quiver from us now 🙂
