Our team members have worked tirelessly to ensure our surf school, café, and overall experience are second to none. So, as the tradition goes, we closed shop early last Friday to celebrate our successes as one big family.
A Night to Blow Off Steam: Our End-of-Season Party
The end-of-season party is a long-standing tradition at Croyde Bay—a chance for the team to blow off some steam after months of hard work and dedication. It was a night filled with laughter, good vibes, and plenty of stories shared among the crew. Of course, with any great celebration, there were a few sore heads the next day, and we’d like to offer our apologies to anyone who may have experienced a slightly slower service afterward!
But let’s be real, when you have a team as dedicated as ours, they deserve to let loose and have a bit of fun.
Honouring the Stars of the Season: The 2024 Awards
As part of the celebrations, we also continued a tradition of recognising some standout members of our team. James, our café manager, handed out three well-deserved awards to those who excelled in keeping the café running smoothly throughout the season:
- Best Front of House – Olina
- Best in Kitchen – Josie
- Best All-Arounder – Lottie
Not to be outdone, our surf school manager, Nathan, also presented some prestigious titles to the surf school team. These awards are a nod to the hard work put in, both in and out of the water, and have become a highly anticipated part of our end-of-season tradition:
- Rookie of the Year – Harry
- Best on Ground – Deb
- Instructor of the Year – Albi
While these awards are a fun way to cap off the season, the reality is that everyone on the team gave their all this year, and we couldn’t be prouder. Whether they took home a custom surfboard or not, every single member of our crew is a legend in their own right.
A Special Goodbye to Some Incredible Team Members
With the close of every season comes the bittersweet task of saying goodbye to a few familiar faces. This year, we’re waving off Nath, Mia, Milly P, Milly B, and Joe as they head off to new adventures. These team members have been instrumental in the day-to-day operations, and their presence will be sorely missed. We want to extend an extra-special thank you to them and wish them all the best in their travels. Don’t forget to keep us posted—we’ll miss you!

As we look ahead to what 2025 will bring, we’re excited to do it all over again. Croyde Bay is not just a place to surf; it’s a community, and that community is built by the amazing people who come together every year to make it special.
