CROYDE ROUTES
The guides at Surfing Croyde Bay have designed several coasteering routes specifically designed for people coasteering for the first time as well as people experienced at coasteering.
Baggy Point is a mellow coasteering route. Ideal for easing into the sport. The jumos are small, the currents are very managable for kids as well as adults. The scrambles, although exhilarating are realatively easy. This said, Baggy Point still packs a coasteering punch and it’s our recommended spot if you’ve never been before.
ILFRACOMBE ROUTES
Hele Bay is a more extreme coasterring route we have designed for people that have been coasteering before and are looking for a more exciting challenge. It’s a route we also recommend for stag parties, military groups and if you want more adrenaline fuelled fun.
The coasteering on this route is generally more challenging, bigger jumps, longer wild swims and steeper scrambles.
You're in safe hands
The quality of your guide is integral to your level of safety and enjoyment when you go coasteering. All of our coasteering guides are fully qualified beach lifeguards. Each guide has intimate knowledge of the area they will take you coasteering. They will also know the weather forecast as well as tide and swell conditions for the day of your experience. Your guide will tailor your route to suit all levels.
THE BEST FACILITIES
We found that most adventure centres dont provide the basics. We don’t think you should have to meet and get changed in a public car park. We don’t think you should have to leave your valuables in your car. We don’t think you should have to meet and pay for parking at Baggy Point.
With the Croyde Surf School Surfing Croyde Bay you have a warm and dry place to get changed, select your wetsuit and get fitted with your buoyancy aid. We will transport you to the coasteering start point by minibus. There are secure lockers for all your belongings. Finally you’ll get a well earn’t hot shower after your experience and you can treat yourself to a hot pasty or snack afterwards.

Our coasteering centre is strategically located in Croyde Bay village at The Old Cream Shop on Hobbs Hill. A short 2-minute drive brings you to the National Trust headland known as Baggy Point.
The National Trust Car Park is where your coasteering experience will commence. After a short walk, you will get to Baggy Point.
The land is owned by the National Trust. It forms part of the Saunton To Baggy Point Coast Site of Special Scientific Interest. This is because of the geological interest in Upper Devonian Sandstones. Baggy Point provides a vital habitat including maritime heathland.
You will explore caves, smugglers coves natural swimming pools and much much more.
