Health and Safety
All persons using the sauna and/or engaging in cold water immersion do so at their own risk. By booking or using the facilities, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any associated risks.
If you have any reservations regarding sauna or cold water immersion use, consult your GP before making a booking.
Do not use the sauna if you:
Suffer from high or low blood pressure, heart or circulatory disorders, epilepsy, or diabetes;
Are pregnant;
Are prone to dizziness or fainting.
Cold water immersion carries risks, including but not limited to hypothermia, muscle cramping, and shock.
General Use
Alcohol and nudity are not permitted in the sauna. Croyde Sauna operator, Surfing Croyde Bay, reserves the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the sauna.
Any hanging or metal jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning.
Glasses and contact lenses should be removed before entering the sauna to avoid damage to coatings and to prevent contact lenses from drying out.
Footwear, including swim shoes, must be removed before entering the sauna.
Hygiene and Sauna Etiquette
Wash your feet in the bucket provided before entering the sauna
Sit on a towel at all times.
Limit your time in the sauna to 20 minutes per session; we recommend sessions of 5-15 minutes.
Gently pour water onto the sauna stove (drizzle, don’t dump water).
Only use the provided “sauna water” for the sauna stove. Do not use essential oils or other products, as unapproved items may release toxins, ignite, or create slippery surfaces.
Get changed within your booked time slot if you’d like to use the changing room.
Booking and Refund Policy
Changing your booking
- Surfing Croyde Bay will make every effort to arrange any changes requested after the booking has been confirmed, providing it is more than 14 days before the session start date.
- Any changes are subject to the availability of session dates and we charge an administration fee relative to the duration of the course
In the case where your group size drops in numbers from the original booking, we must receive notification of this in due time and in writing/email. See the credit note policy for this situation
If the changes are less than 14 days prior to the session you will be responsible for paying the full balance on the original booking. In exceptional and extenuating circumstances we may waive the above. i.e. bereavement, serious illness.
Cancellations
If any person or you, need to cancel the booking once it has been confirmed, we must be notified in writing by post or e-mail. The date on which written notification is received will determine the level of cancellation charges applicable. All cancellations must be sent in writing/email wherever possible and will be effective on the date which they are received by the operator, Surfing Croyde Bay. Cancellation charges are payable as below.
Over 60 days before the session date: 20% of the total cost payable.
Less than 28 days and over 14 days before the lesson date: A credit note will be given which is redeemable until the end of the following season.
If cancellations are less than 14 days prior to the lesson you will be responsible for paying the full balance on the original booking
Gift vouchers are non-refundable but can be transferred to different recipients, valid until the end of the season bought in.
Participants that fail to show up will be charged in full for the lesson, with no refunds or credit notes. Please note that your travel insurance may provide a full refund if the reason for your cancellation falls within the terms of your policy.
Refunds
NO refunds will be given.
However, most circumstances entitle you to our credit note policy
Croyde Sauna operators, Surfing Croyde Bay reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or for other reasons that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone who’s refused admission.
Personal Belongings
Croyde Sauna Operators, Surfing Croyde Bay, are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. Please secure valuables before entering the facilities.
Behaviour and Conduct
The operator, Surfing Croyde Bay, reserves the right to refuse entry or remove individuals engaging in disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior, including harassment or property damage. Refunds will not be issued in such cases.
Sauna etiquette must be adhered to at all times for the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
Emergency Situations
In the event of an emergency, follow all instructions provided by the operators. Emergency services will be contacted if necessary.
Liability Waiver
The Croyde Sauna operator, Surfing Croyde Bay, is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or damages arising from the use of the facilities, except in cases of proven negligence.
Group Bookings
If you are booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to ensure all members are aware of these terms and conditions and adhere to them.
Photography and Media
Photography and video recording are permitted only with the consent of all individuals present. The operator, Surfing Croyde Bay reserves the right to request that recordings be stopped or deleted if they breach privacy or safety concerns.
Croyde Sauna operator, Surfing Croyde Bay, reserves the right to refuse entry, cut short, or cancel sessions for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk, if there are concerns about risky behaviour, or if any of the above rules are not followed. Refunds will not be offered to anyone who is refused admission.
By using the facilities, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Failure to adhere to the rules may result in the refusal of entry or the termination of your session without a refund.
